Anthropologie im Werk von Panajotis Kondylis.
Panajotis Kondylis, 1943–1998, hat in seinem umfangreichen Werk maßgebende Epochen der europäischen Theorie- und Ideengeschichte rekonstruiert. Seine strukturgeschichtlich orientierten Untersuchungen fördern nicht nur den Dialog zwischen Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften, sie verweisen auch auf einen den überlieferten Denkarten gemeinsamen, anthropologisch verbindlichen Grund: Als Mängelwesen bedarf der Mensch des Menschen, um in Gemeinschaft die Bedingungen sowohl für die physische als auch die geistige Erhaltung seiner Existenz zu schaffen. Darüber geben jene epochentypischen Welt- und Menschenbilder Auskunft, deren Genese Kondylis’ kritische Analysen der europäischen Philosophietraditionen nachgezeichnet haben. His investigations, which are oriented towards structural history, not only encourage the dialogue between social science and cultural studies, they also point to an anthropologically mandatory reason, basic to all search of knowledge: As deficient beings, man needs man in order to create the conditions for both the physical and the spiritual preservation of his existence. Information about this is provided by those epoch-typical images of the world and the human beings, the genesis of which Kondylis traced in his critical analyses of European philosophical thought. The articles in this volume not only deal with current aspects of his work, they also document the author's search for the anthropological preconditions of the intellectual history brought to mind in his writings.
